9/19/2023 0 Comments Softraid 5![]() ![]() See SoftRAID for information and to purchase. To make a product RAID 5 in Windows, we require no less than three hard drives of a similar limit, aside from the OS drive. SoftRAID Lite is now available for $49.99. Fully functional with no features disabled, this SoftRAID trial provides all the great disk checking, monitoring, and easy volume creation attributes that made SoftRAID the most popular RAID setup and management app for years. ![]() Eliminate that risk by trying SoftRAID Lite completely free for 30 days and see firsthand how it can protect mission-critical data. Sudden disk failure can cost time, money, and quite possibly your business. Because SoftRAID proved to offer many of the same attributes our customers expect from our hardware, OWC acquired SoftRAID in 2014 so hardware and software teams could work together daily to create the easiest to use, most fully-featured software RAID package available. While becoming a leading developer of external drives over the past two decades, OWC began offering multi-drive units pre-configured with SoftRAID to offer customers enhanced data storage capabilities. Sharing data between Macs and PCs has never been easier. Built with MacDrive technology (an OWC software technology), SoftRAID allows users to create, read, and write HFS+ RAID sets on both macOS and Windows computers so you’ll never have to worry about disk formats again. These advanced monitoring tools work in the background to ensure users are constantly protected from a catastrophic, project-killing data loss. SoftRAID checks and verifies new disks for errors before use, warns users when a disk is about to fail, and even keeps users working if a drive is lost. When it comes to protection, SoftRAID was designed to keep work worry-free. Getting work done quickly while keeping data safe is paramount. In contrast, if a hardware RAID system fails and it’s out of production or no longer supported, all the data could be lost. ![]() With SoftRAID, users replace a bad enclosure or upgrade, and the drives can be moved to that enclosure where data can be accessed without skipping a beat. Perhaps the biggest advantage of SoftRAID over a hardware RAID is that users are not locked into specific hardware in order to access data. The result is a fast and flexible RAID array that doesn’t impact a computer’s system or applications. Additionally, SoftRAID utilizes a computer’s advanced processing power versus the slow processors found in most hardware RAID enclosures. With SoftRAID, users can spread volumes over two or more drive enclosures for mind-boggling performance over a single hardware RAID device. SoftRAID unshackles users from expensive hardware RAID technology that’s not upgradeable or expandable. With SoftRAID Lite and Lite XT, Windows users can create super-fast RAID 0 sets or ultra-secure RAID 1 sets, certify new disks before use, receive warnings when a disk is about to fail, and restore data quickly with fast rebuilding. Risk-free: 30-day free trial of fully functional application.Thorough: full TRIM support improves internal and external SSD performance in all RAID levels.Built-in MacDrive technology: SoftRAID Lite and Lite XT let users exchange arrays between Windows and macOS computers.Vigilant: early warning prediction helps protect against unexpected drive failure.Certified: thoroughly scans drives before use to ensure they are safe for data storage.Verified: volume validation ensures sectors can be read, parity is correct, and volume failure is minimized.Flexible: create RAID 0, 1 volumes with SoftRAID Lite and Lite XT (Windows). It’s ideal for voluminous data roles including audio/video production and editing, photography, graphic design, database servers, financial applications, and more. Featuring an all-new, streamlined interface, users work worry-free with disks checked and verified before use plus early warnings prevent unexpected disk failure. New licensing of SoftRAID now enables an unlicensed version of SoftRAID to still read/write RAID volumes, making it easier to move them between different computers and locations. SoftRAID is the powerful yet easy-to-use RAID software platform that maximizes drive capacity, offers faster performance, and protects against data loss. ![]() Available for purchase now users who have previously purchased SoftRAID 5 Lite XT with their OWC solution will receive this Windows edition for free. 9/19/2023 0 Comments Large real chalkboard![]() ![]() The findings of the study were presented at the Acoustical Society of America conference and support earlier findings from a 1986 study by Vanderbilt psychologist Randolph Blake and two colleagues found that the sound of nails on a chalkboard annoyed people even when the high-pitch frequencies were removed. According to a study run by Michael Oehler, a professor at the University of Cologne, Germany, humans are "predisposed to detest" the sound of nails on a blackboard. The scratching of fingernails on a blackboard, as well as other pointed, especially metal objects against blackboards, produces a sound that is well known for being extremely irritating to most people. Ghosting occurs when old coloured chalk, pastels or chalkpen ink absorbs into the black finish of the board, making it impossible to remove. Chalk sticks shrink through use, and are notorious for breaking in half unless inserted in a writing utensil designed for chalk. The writing on blackboards is difficult to read in the dark. The dust also precludes the use of chalk in areas shared with dust-sensitive equipment such as computers. Some people find this uncomfortable or may be allergic to it, and according to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI), there are links between chalk dust and allergy and asthma problems. On the other hand, chalk produces dust, the amount depending on the quality of chalk used.

Accounting sources advise that the full amount of a bad debt be written off to the profit and loss account or a provision for bad debts as soon as it is foreseen. There are various technical definitions of what constitutes a bad debt, depending on accounting conventions, regulatory treatment and the institution provisioning. There’s no clear map of the hotel, and the next goal Many scattered items can be interacted with, but are useless - books don’t offer text or images, electronics don’t work, and most story items are single-use only. The hotel itself consists of three floors and a basement with multiple rooms, hallways and hidden staircases, but only a fraction of it is actually explorable or relevant. As she explores the hotel, calling it a chore to get around is an understatement. For example, Nicole’s movement is spectacularly slow. The suspense created by this direction is the absolute highlight of Rachel. As Nicole starts experiencing nightmares, things steer into darker storytelling and build towards a revelation. This feeling of impending horror is underscored by clues that leave the player speculating about Rachel, whose suicide is… questionable. During Nicole’s time at the hotel, the eerie atmosphere in dimly lit rooms and matching sound effects keep her (and the player) on their toes. Their relationship develops from mistrustful to flirting. The first is that Nicole uses her cellphone to repeatedly call a FEMA agent who guides her through the hotel to necessary food, energy and entertainment. Nicole’s dad cheated on her mother with the titular Rachel - a 16-year-old who became pregnant and (apparently) killed herself in the hotel. Rachel‘s story mainly focuses on family drama. She visits with the intention of selling a hotel inherited from her deceased father, but upon arrival, a seemingly eternal snowstorm hits and a sequence of clichéd events follows… The player controls Nicole, a girl who’s returning to the state after leaving with her mother several years before. According to the World Health Organization, UV-A is responsible for the initial tanning of skin and it contributes to skin ageing and wrinkling. UV-A presents a potential hazard when eyes and skin are exposed, especially to high power sources. Strong sources of long-wave ultraviolet light are used in tanning beds. Black lights are employed for decorative and artistic lighting effects, diagnostic and therapeutic uses in medicine, the detection of substances tagged with fluorescent dyes, rock-hunting, scorpion-hunting, the detection of counterfeit money, the curing of plastic resins, attracting insects and the detection of refrigerant leaks affecting refrigerators and air conditioning systems. In medicine, forensics, and some other scientific fields, such a light source is referred to as a Wood's lamp, named after Robert Williams Wood, who invented the original Wood's glass UV filters.Īlthough many other types of lamp emit ultraviolet light with visible light, black lights are essential when UV-A light without visible light is needed, particularly in observing fluorescence, the colored glow that many substances emit when exposed to UV. These tubes are made for use in " bug zapper" insect traps, and are identified by the industry designation "BL". A second type of lamp produces ultraviolet but does not have the filter material, so it produces more visible light and has a blue color when operating. Blacklight lamps which have this filter have a lighting industry designation that includes the letters "BLB". One type of lamp has a violet filter material, either on the bulb or in a separate glass filter in the lamp housing, which blocks most visible light and allows through UV, so the lamp has a dim violet glow when operating. The violet glow of a black light is not the UV light itself, but visible light that escapes being filtered out by the filter material in the glass envelope.Ī blacklight, also called a UV-A light, Wood's lamp, or ultraviolet light, is a lamp that emits long-wave ( UV-A) ultraviolet light and very little visible light. 9/19/2023 0 Comments Nile river bible definition![]() Lost as well in this region are the vast amounts of sediment that the Tigris and Euphrates bring from the mountainous regions. About 90 percent of their flow mysteriously is lost to irrigation, evaporation, pools and lakes, and the swamps and never reaches the Persian Gulf. From the river plain to the delta, both the Tigris and Euphrates rivers regularly have formed new branches and changed their courses. The Lower Euphrates generally formed the western limits of the city-states that made up the early Sumerian civilization. Two important tributaries, the Belikh and Khabur, flow into the Euphrates from the north before it continues on to the ancient trade center at Mari. Nebuchadnezzar II defeated Pharaoh Necho as he began his successful drive to claim the former Assyrian Empire for Babylon ( 2 Kings 24:7 Jeremiah 46:1 ). On the Middle Euphrates, Carchemish, originally the center of a small city-state, became the important provincial capital of the Mitanni kingdom, later of the Hittite and Assyrian Empires. From the mountainous region of northeastern Turkey (Armenia), it flows southward into northern Syria and turns southeasterly to join the Tigris and flows into the Persian Gulf. Euphrates First mentioned in Genesis 2:14 as one of the four branches of the river that watered the Garden of Eden, the Euphrates flows 1,700 miles to become the longest river in Western Asia. In the Delta at least three major branches facilitated irrigation in the extensive fan north of Memphis, the ancient capital of lower Egypt. Historically, approximately 95 percent of Egypt's population depended upon the productivity of the 5 percent of the country's land area within the flood plain of the Nile. From its low ebb at the end of May, the flow of the river gradually rises to its maximum flood stage at the beginning of September. From the central highlands of East Africa, the Nile with a watershed of over one million square miles is formed by the union of the White and Blue Niles and flows a distance of nearly 3,500 miles. ![]() The prophets Amos ( Amos 8:8 Amos 9:5 ) and Jeremiah ( Jeremiah 46:8 ) used the Nile as the symbol of Egypt, a concept that is readily understood in terms of the river's historical importance to the survival and well-being of the country.įor the Egyptians the predictable annual flooding of the Nile with the depositing of the fertile black alluvial soil meant the enrichment of the flood plain and the difference between food and famine. The “brook of Egypt” mostly is a reference to Wadi el-Arish, the drainage system of the central Sinai. The Nile is alluded to in many other passages as “the river” ( Genesis 41:1 ), the “river of Egypt” ( Genesis 15:18 ), the “flood of Egypt” ( Amos 8:8 ), Shihor ( Joshua 13:3 ), river of Cush among other names. The Nile plays a prominent role in the early events in the life of Moses in Exodus (Moses, Exodus 2:3 the ten plagues, Exodus 7:15 ,Exodus 7:15, 7:20 ). Nile River The name Nile is not explicitly mentioned in KJV, but modern translations most often translated the Hebrew yeor as the Nile. A study of rivers helps understand the culture near the river.ġ. Rivers and Streams Each of the biblical rivers was developed to meet distinct human needs. Since roads followed the lines of least resistance, the pattern of early trade routes conformed closely, especially in more rugged terrain, to channels and courses of the rivers and streams, and along the shoreline where the earliest fishing villages developed. Trade was facilitated by means of navigable waterways. Flood control, social and economic organization, and invention of writing as a means of communication developed. ![]() Thus the early river civilizations of the Nile, the Tigris, and Euphrates starting about 3000 B.C., and the Indus civilization slightly later, resulted in response to the challenges and benefits these important waterways presented. However, within the areas of plain and lowland that provided a more constant food supply and ease of movement, the need for a permanent water source attracted settlers to the river banks. The flood plains of many of these rivers originally were inhospitable with thick, tangled jungles, wild beasts, and unpredictable flooding and disease. ![]() Print Article From the earliest efforts at permanent settlement in the Ancient Near East, people were attracted to the rivers and streams that ultimately would dictate population distribution between the mountains, deserts, and the seas. ![]() |
